Frequently Asked Questions

What is your cancellation policy? Should you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we ask that you please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Any cancellations with less than 24 hours notice are subject to a cancellation fee amounting to the cost of the scheduled service. Please refer to the "Salon Policies" tab for more information.

Do you accept walk-ins? We do accept walk-ins! However, we highly encourage you to book your appointment in advance in order to secure your desired date and time. Our salon's schedule tends to book up about 2-3 days in advance (or further depending on your requested service provider's schedule). If you walk in or try to schedule an appointment the day-of, there is a chance we may already be fully booked.

What is the difference between a men's salon and a barber shop? At a men's salon, stylists generally have more experience cutting and styling longer hair. If you want a more trendy, fashion-forward cut, a stylist is usually more aware of current trends. If you want a new style, a stylist can make suggestions for a style that will flatter your features better. You'll also find an array of products in a salon that you won't find in a barbershop, and your stylist can suggest the right one for you and explain how to use it. A barber shop will focus more on short, traditional style haircuts such as a buzzcut, flattop, razor fade, or military-style cut. A haircut you get from a barber will be simple and easy to maintain and won't require a lot of styling product. If you are unsure about what may be best for you, please call us and we will happily lead you in the right direction.

What happens if I am running late to my appointment? If you are aware that you will be running late, please call us to let us know. We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals, however, the length of service may be adjusted so as to not interrupt the scheduled appointments of other guests. Depending upon how late you arrive, your service provider will determine if there is enough time remaining to complete the booked service to our quality standards. In some cases, if you arrive too late, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment so that your service provider can fully accommodate your requested service. Whether you receive a shortened service or are asked to reschedule, the full amount of scheduled services will apply.

How early should I prebook my appointment? We highly encourage our clients to rebook at the end of each appointment. Our salon's schedule tends to book up about 2-3 days in advance (or further depending on your requested service provider's schedule). The sooner you book, the better! Please note that stylists' personal schedules may change. If you book far in advance, there is a chance that you may be asked to reschedule your pre-booked appointment due to changes in their personal schedule.

I don't need a hot towel or scalp massage. Can I just get a quick haircut? Our Full Service Men's Cut is a 45 minute service that includes a scalp massage, shampoo and condition, hot facial towel, cut, cleansing rinse, and style. If you would like to forgo the hot towel or scalp massage, we will happily accommodate your request, however you will still be charged the full service haircut price. 

I just need a little length taken off. Should I book a neck trim? Neck trims are available to clean up around the neck and ears to create clean lines between haircuts. Neck trims do not include taking any length off of your hair. If you would like any length taken off of your hair, please book a Full Service Men's Cut. This will give your stylist the time needed to cut, blend, and style your hair.

Can I bring my child here to get his hair cut? As a business, Caliber Men's Grooming does not offer child cuts, but we are happy to refer you to children's salons in the area! We do offer Teen Cuts for boys ages 13-17. Please note that some stylists at Caliber are "booth renters" and may continue to serve children of long time clients. These stylists, as well as stylists that work exclusively for Caliber are unable to accept any new child clients. Please refer to the "Services" tab for more information.

When are shoe shines available? Curtis, our shoe shiner, is here Tuesday-Friday from 2:00 to 6:00. If you plan to bring shoes when Curtis is not here, you are welcome to drop them off, and we will follow up with you when they are ready to be picked up.

What services do you offer? Caliber Men's Grooming offers haircuts, beard trims, head shaves, neck trims, facials, waxing, massages, shoe shines, and custom clothing (Manchin Inc). Please refer to the "Services" tab for more information about the services that we offer.

Why do different stylists have different prices? Our differences in pricing are based on many factors that include: demand, performance, years of experience, longevity with the Caliber team, and personal choice. Our front desk receptionist or salon manager can help you determine who will fit your needs best.

Why don't all stylists accept new clients? Many service providers at Caliber have built a large clientele over the years. In order to prevent extensive waitlists and overflow of clientele, some stylists have opted out of accepting new client appointments on their schedule at this time.
